The availability of skilled labour together with an excellent local educational infrastructure has enabled Sligo to attract many leading multinationals including; Abbott Laboratories, Tractech and Saehan Media. FAS, the national training and employment agency has a regional training centre in Sligo. Its employment placement service provides a comprehensive recruitment and placement option for employers and a range of incentives to new industry.

Sligo is served by a number of national rail and road routes. With its own seaport, Sligo also has a busy regional airport, which offers daily scheduled flights to Dublin for onward connections to Europe.
