  Cork
Cork city is the Republic of Ireland's largest city after Dublin. County Cork has the largest volume of inhabitants in Ireland outside of Dublin, with a population of almost 180,000 people. A 'University City', Cork also has an Institute of Technology and a number of third level colleges and training centres. University College Cork has a student population of 12,000. The City caters for some 25,000 students.

Cork city has 253 Irish owned (IDA assisted) businesses and 59 foreign owned establishments. Red Hat, Avery Dennison, Siemens and Logitech Services Ireland Ltd are just some of the international companies who have invested in Cork.

There are 153 hectares of undeveloped land in Cork city, which have been zoned for residential development and 39.53 hectares, which have been zoned for industry. IDA Ireland has a total of five sites in Cork 72% of which is available for use.

Cork's modern infrastructure is underpinned by excellent rail (three hours travelling time to Dublin), road and sea transport systems. Kent Station, Corks primary railway station is the focus of a major expansion plan. Cork International Airport continues to be one of the fastest growing regional airports in Europe with daily flights to the UK and Europe. As the leading deepwater port on the South Coast of Ireland, Cork is well positioned to avail of the main shipping lines of Northern Europe.
